After months of speculation, Apple is set to officially unveil its iPhone 16 series at the 'It's Glowtime' event today at 10:30 PM (IST). Along with the new iPhones, the tech giant is expected to introduce a refreshed version of AirPods and three new Apple Watch models during the event.

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus:

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to retain many design elements from last year's models, including 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays and an aluminium body. However, a significant design update will likely be the shift from the iPhone 15 series' diagonal camera layout to a vertical, pill-shaped cut-out aimed at supporting spatial video recording.

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are expected to see a significant performance upgrade with the introduction of the Apple A18 chipset and a base model featuring 8GB of RAM (up from 6GB last year). These enhancements are designed to support new Apple Intelligence features. The standard iPhone models are expected to feature the Action Button, which was first introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro series last year.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max:

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are anticipated to come with larger displays—6.3 inches (up from 6.1 inches) and 6.9 inches (up from 6.7 inches), respectively. Apple is rumoured to use new Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology, potentially leading to significantly slimmer bezels.

These Pro models are likely to be powered by the A18 Pro chipset with 8GB of RAM and an enhanced Neural Engine, which Apple may highlight to showcase its advancements in AI capabilities. The iPhone 16 Pro models are expected to see a significant camera upgrade, featuring a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, up from last year’s 12MP. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro is likely to gain 5x optical zoom on the telephoto lens, matching the Pro Max model.

Rumours also hint at the introduction of a new touch-sensitive 'Capture Button' on the iPhone 16 Pro variants. This button is expected to function like a DSLR shutter, allowing users to focus, zoom, and take photos with greater precision. Apple is expected to introduce a new gold titanium colour this year, replacing the blue titanium variant from last year.

AirPods 4, Apple Watch SE, and More:

At the 'It’s Glowtime' event, Apple is expected to unveil two new variants of the AirPods 4. These models will likely share similar design elements and serve as successors to the AirPods 2 and AirPods 3. The main difference between the entry-level and mid-level AirPods 4 is expected to be active noise cancellation (ANC), with the mid-level version featuring ANC, while the entry-level will not.

The premium AirPods 4 variant may also come with an advanced case featuring a built-in speaker and Apple’s Find My integration. Apple is also anticipated to launch the Watch SE 3, a refreshed Watch Series 10, and the Watch Ultra 3 today.
