Vijayawada: Ruling TDP and its allies and the Opposition party YSRCP are crossing swords over the demolition of the latter's central office at Tadepalli in the capital region.

Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that demolition at Tadepalli was executed disregarding court order. He said the new government is resorting to vendetta politics. His allegation was promptly denied by the TDP.

An under construction building of YSRCP office at Tadepalli was bulldozed on Saturday morning by the Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC). This was as a sequel to the notices served by the MMTC and the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) officials.

After Tadepalli demolition, officials are studying the extent of lands acquired and the status of construction of buildings for YSRCP offices in all 26 districts in the State.

TDP general secretary and HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh said 42 acres was allotted across the State during earlier regime for construction of YSRCP offices at Rs 1,000 per year lease rental for 33 years.

TDP alleged that the value of lands grabbed for YSRCP offices across the State is estimated at around Rs 900 crore to Rs 1,000 crore.

"There have been several cases of demolition of our buildings and attacks on our cadres and leaders since election results were declared on June 4," YSRCP leader and former Minister Gudivada Amarnath alleged in Visakhapatnam.
