Naidu launches NTR Bharosa pension scheme; Hits out at YSRCP

Amaravati: Accusing the erstwhile YSRCP Government of borrowing loans indiscriminately and indulging in extravagance at the cost of tax-payers’ money, Chief Minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday sought the cooperation of all to ensure undo the massive destruction done to the State during the past five years and to put Andhra Pradesh on the path of accelerated development in all spheres of life.

Regretting that more and more destructive steps and the borrowing made by the earlier government are coming to light, he said, while launching NTR Bharosa, monthly social security pension scheme for the poorer sections by increasing it from Rs3,000 to Rs4,000 from April as per his poll promise, that the YSRCP had totally reversed the lives of the people. “As there is a need to move ahead after recovering from these losses and let us all work together to create assets and distribute the revenue to the people,” he noted.

The total amount of pension distribution, which began on Monday to 65.31 lakh beneficiaries of 28 different categories is estimated at over Rs4,408 crore. This includes pension for physically challenged and those suffering from critical ailments. While 1,20,097 secretariat employees are drafted for the purpose, the TDP-led NDA Government has directed the take the assistance of the volunteers as and when required.
