CM Revanth Announces Cash Reward of Rs25 Lakh to Two Chess Champions

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced a cash reward of Rs25 lakh each for chess players- Arjun (world rank 3 ) and Harika (World Rank 11) in recognition of their outstanding performances at the recently concluded 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad held in Budapest, Hungary.

Both the Indian Men's and Women's teams made history by winning team gold medals, with Arjun also securing an additional individual gold medal for India, further elevating the nation's stature on the global chess stage.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister felicitated both chess players at his residence here on Friday and appreciated their performances in the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad.

The felicitation ceremony was graced in the presence of Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao and MLA Nayini Rajendher Reddy and Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, Sports Chairman Shiva Sena Reddy, and Sports MD Soni Bala Devi, along with other esteemed dignitaries.

This recognition is a testament to the government's commitment to promoting and supporting excellence in sports, honouring the remarkable achievements of Indian athletes on the world stage.
