S Korean delegation meets AP officials to boost MSME collab

Vijayawada: A high-level delegation from South Korea led by Calvin Seungwon Yi, CEO, Wevio Global, Inc. met Kondapalli Srinivas, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and senior officials to collaborate on promotion of MSMEs.
The team also met Dr Sreedhar Cherukuri, Director of Industries, Commerce and Export Promotion and Abhishikth Kishore, Vice Chairman & MD, APIIC to discuss the prospects of Korean companies’ investments in various sectors of MSMEs in AP.
The Korean team held discussions for setting-up technology business incubation centers and having an institutional engagement in agri tech, in the State. The deliberations primarily focused on Wevio Global - Korea collaboration with the Government of AP for boosting investments in agri-tech, food processing, aqua, bio-tech, pharma and electronics MSMEs and to strategically partner for soft landing and scaling-up of Korean companies in the State.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Sreedhar highlighted the State’s enabling and hassle-free business environment for the investors. He mentioned the development of new product-based MSME clusters and the conversion of existing 28 dedicated MSME clusters/ parks across seven districts to product-specific clusters with technology and expert interventions. The discussion progressed by stressing upon the focus on the MSME segment, private participation in the development of MSME parks and the home-to-home survey that is being carried out by AP govt for understanding the micro business entrepreneurs and their challenges. Minister Srinivas, who chaired the meeting spoke about the micro-level industries and the RAMP programme being implemented at State level to enhance the performance of MSMEs by promoting technology upgradation, innovation, digitisation, market access, credit and greening initiatives.
