Per capita income can be doubled by achieving 15% growth rate: Naidu

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is of the firm belief that the government's vision should always be on totally transforming the lifestyle of the person from the downtrodden section.

He said this when NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subrahmanyam and other representatives of the organisation met him at the State Secretariat on Friday on the vision document for Vikasitha Andhra Pradesh-2047.

They had a detailed discussion on preparing the document as part of the Vikasitha Bharat-2047.

The Chief Minister told the NITI Aayog representatives that the vision of any government should be on totally transforming the living standards of a person from the downtrodden sections. The meeting focussed on the programmes and projects to be taken up in the coming days for the overall development of the State.

Naidu shared with the NITI Aayog officials his experiences, the decisions that he had taken as the Chief Minister of both the combined Andhra Pradesh and the residual State and how they had influenced to change the lifestyle of the people besides his future plans.

The Chief Minister readily came forward to play his active role to take the nation on progressive path with certain special plans. "Andhra Pradesh will certainly take its role in a very active manner to take the nation on the progressive path," he added.

The governments should function with a vision and the people have experienced the results with the reforms introduced with a vision both in the combined Andhra Pradesh and in the residual State, Naidu said.

Stressing the need to move forward by preparing the vision-2047 for Vikasitha Andhra Pradesh, he said that a poverty-free society should be achieved with unique ideas and utilising the latest technology. The vision-2047 for Vikasitha Andhra Pradesh should focus on this, he added.

The Chief Minister felt that any plans should be formulated after thorough exercise on balanced population and predicted that all sectors will witness radical changes in the coming days with Artificial Intelligence (AI). Programmes should be designed to brand both Amaravati and Visakhapatnam as AI hubs, he said, adding that plans are afoot to establish AI university in the State.

Besides introducing latest reforms in the farming sector, Naidu said that the policies should be formulated in such a way that they encourage farming without causing any harm to nature.

He is of the firm belief that if horticulture-based food processing units are set up in Rayalaseema the farmers in the region get maximum benefits.

He is also of the opinion that the power sector, which is very crucial in the development of the State, too will have a lot of radical reforms in the coming days and felt that the systems along with the people should be prepared accordingly. If 15% growth rate is achieved the per capita income of the people will be doubled and thus the governments should work with this goal to increase the living standards of the people, he stated.
