Nepal Bus Tragedy: Forensic Examination and Relief Efforts for Indian Pilgrims

A bus carrying 43 Indian pilgrims plunged into the Marsyangdi River in Nepal, killing 27 and injuring 16. The victims, from Maharashtra, were on a 10-day tour.

The bodies are being examined at Bharatpur Hospital, Chitwan, and will be flown to Nashik once the process is complete.

Union Minister Raksha Nikhil Khadse is in Kathmandu overseeing relief efforts and visiting injured passengers at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

She praised the support from Nepalese authorities and the Indian embassy.

One passenger is in critical condition, while others are stable. Further treatment in India is being considered.

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expressed his condolences. The Indian Embassy has provided emergency contact numbers for families.

The crash occurred at Aanboo Khaireni, about 90 km west of Kathmandu. The cause of the accident is under investigation. The bus was part of a group of 104 pilgrims from Maharashtra.
