Modi Advocates Peace in Ukraine During Historic Visit

On Friday, India asserted that resolving the Ukraine conflict requires engaging with Russia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that India is committed to peace, not neutrality.

This is Modi’s first visit to Ukraine since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1992, following his recent summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Modi’s visit signals India’s intention to play a constructive role in the peace process.

Modi emphasized that a solution must come through direct talks between Russia and Ukraine and affirmed India’s support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.

He also told Putin that war is not a solution and conflicts can’t be resolved on the battlefield.
