Visakhapatnam: Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) on Monday inaugurated a five-day faculty development programme titled “Nurturing Future Leadership”. The programme is being conducted under the aegis of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training programme, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, for the faculties of Centrally Funded Institutions (CFIs).
Thirty four faculty members from various centrally funded institutions throughout India are participating in the programme. Prof K Rama Mohan Rao, Vice-Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), graced the inaugural session as the chief guest.
In his address, he underscored the need for such programme under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He emphasised that to improve the quality of education, every faculty member should enhance specific leadership skills, not solely focusing on teaching learning materials.
