Hyderabad Metro bags Golden Peacock Award

Hyderabad: L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd. (L&TMRHL) has received the Golden Peacock Award in the Transportation (Railways) category for Excellence in Occupational Health & Safety (GPOHSA). The group has been recognised for its unwavering commitment to safety.

It serves as a beacon of inspiration, propelling us forward in our continuous pursuit of safety excellence.” The award ceremony was held at Institute of Directors (IOD’s) 25th International Conference on Environment Management and Climate Change in Bengaluru recently. The award was presented by prominent dignitaries including former chief justice of India Uday U Lalit and Ritu Raj Awasthi, former chief justice of Karnataka High Court.

Hyderabad Metro Rail emerged victorious against a highly competitive pool of 778 submissions, solidifying its position as a leader in implementing exceptional safety standards. The award jury was led by MN Venkatachaliah, former chief justice, further adding to the significance of this recognition. This award underscores Metro Rail’s unwavering dedication to the safety of its workforce, exceeding 126 direct employees and 2,600 total personnel. Winning the GPOHSA reinforces the company’s commitment to upholding the most stringent Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards within the industry.
