In an unexpected turn of events, a stolen Ferrari valued at $575,000 (around ₹4.8 crore) was recovered in Connecticut, thanks to a pair of Apple AirPods. Eyewitness News reported that the vehicle's owner parked his new 2023 Ferrari, leaving the AirPods inside. This seemingly minor detail enabled the Waterbury Auto Theft Task Force to trace the headphones, leading to the discovery of the car at a gas station on South Main Street.

The police revealed that the Ferrari was taken from Greenwich on September 16. When officers tried to pull over the vehicle, the driver fled the scene.

Utilizing Apple’s Find My feature, authorities successfully tracked the stolen Ferrari. This technology allows users to monitor the location of their Apple devices in real-time through their iCloud accounts. As noted on Apple’s support page, “Find My can display your AirPods on a map, emit a sound to aid in locating them, and pinpoint their exact location when nearby.”

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Dion Schontten from Waterbury, was arrested with the stolen 2023 Acura.
