Futures Hovering In Divergent Trading

Gold futures marginally increased Rs18 to Rs73,112 per 10 grams as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand. Silver futures fell Rs103 to Rs89,037 per kilogram as participants reduced their bets. On Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for October delivery traded marginally higher by Rs18 or 0.02 per cent at Rs73,112 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 13,613 lots. Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in gold prices, analysts said. Globally, gold futures increased 0.19 per cent to $2,597.20 per ounce in New York.

On MCX, silver contracts for December delivery declined Rs103 or 0.12 per cent to Rs89,037 per kg in a business turnover of 24,870 lots. Globally, silver was trading 0.04 per cent higher at $30.99 per ounce in New York.
