Currently across both our plants in Telangana, we employ close to 500 direct and around 600 indirect people," Rajesh Pajnoo, CEO, Truflo by Hindware Limited, tells Bizz Buzz in an interaction

When did you start the commercial production from your second plant based in Telangana?

Today, Truflo by Hindware is one of the fastest-growing plastic pipes and fittings manufacturing companies in India. Our superior product quality, our extensive range of over 1,500 SKUs, our relationship with the plumbing community have helped us to grow at this accelerated pace.

In less than five years of our first plastic pipes and fittings plant, we started commercial production from our second plant in December 2022. We commenced the commercial production from our second manufacturing unit in Isnapur, Hyderabad to increase the capacity from 30,000 tonne to 48,000 tonne. The plants manufacture all types of CPVC and PVC pipes and fittings, suitable for potable water transportation, rain and sewerage lines, water harvesting, and sanitation applications, primarily for the building construction segment.

What were the employment opportunities the brand provided with the facility?

Truflo by Hindware invested Rs 160 crore to set up the second manufacturing plant. Currently across both our plants in Telangana, we employ close to 500 direct and around 600 indirect people.

How the plastic pipes and fittings business is doing now and what is the outlook for the coming quarters?

Truflo continues to be the fastest growing plastic pipes in India with revenues of Rs 565 crore during FY23 and our business grew by 41 per cent. We recently forayed into the PTMT faucets and accessories and overhead water storage tanks to provide customers with a one-stop solution for all plumbing and storage requirements. Moreover, we recently announced a strategic partnership with Reliance Worldwide Corporation (RWC) to sell cobranded TrufloSharkbite range of composite pipes and fittings, focused largely on the premium housing and projects segment. This partnership is another step towards Truflo’s long-term commitment to becoming one of India's innovative and leading brands in the plastic pipes & fittings segment in India.

As a company, we will continue to work towards product innovation and widening our distribution reach. Over the previous quarters, we’ve been able to add over 200 new products, increasing the SKUs we offer to over 1,500. And we have a strong network of over 290 active distributors with more than 25,000 retail outlets to support us in our ambition to become one of the top players in the segment.

How is Truflo by Hindware's foray into PTMT faucets and accessories doing? What are the expansion plans for the PTMT accessories business?

We have introduced PTMT faucets, flush tanks, seat covers, and other accessories, to foray into the bath fittings segment. Under this new segment, we will focus on tier II and tier III cities as they are expanding at an exponential rate, supported by rising disposable incomes, which has sped up urbanisation, and the rise in the number of nuclear families. We believe this has and will continue to raise the demand for basic sanitation, which will increase the demand for PTMT faucets and other products.

In order to meet the demands of varied customers, we have introduced 14 designs for PTMT faucets and 6 flush tanks. We believe venturing into the PTMT faucets segment is a natural extension of our portfolio as we aim to provide customers with a one-stop solution for all their plumbing requirements.

What is the revenue growth expected with the expansion and new market segment?

The PTMT faucets and market category is expected to surpass Rs 1500 crore, and with only a few organised companies, the growth opportunity in tier II & tier III cities is still relatively untapped. Backed by our strong R&D capabilities, innovative product offerings, wide distribution channel, and intelligent marketing and branding campaigns across platforms, we are confident of expanding in these markets to meet the demand.
