MEMBERS of the minor mineral industry have decided to meet at Vijayawada in large numbers in March to press the State Government to take steps for rationalisation of mineral taxes and bring about a positive agenda to the industry.

Visakhapatnam: MEMBERS of the minor mineral industry have decided to meet at Vijayawada in large numbers in March to press the State Government to take steps for rationalisation of mineral taxes and bring about a positive agenda to the industry.

Members have discussed all the GOs that were brought by the State Government threadbare and resolved to carry forward the legal fight to safeguard the industry.

They took part in a seminar on "Is mining in crisis" organised by Mining Engineers Association of India, Vizag Chapter and Federation of Minor Minerals Industry on Monday.

Among others, K. Madusudana, president, MEAI, C Padmanabha Rao, president Federation of Minor Minerals Industry (FEMMI), RINL DGM P Ramakrishna and others were present. The members deliberated on various issues plaguing the industry and asked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to repeal all GOs which were detrimental to their interest.
