Brent crude trading at $80.57/bbl
Crude oil prices rose by Rs50 to Rs6,296 per barrel in futures trade as participants increased their positions following a firm spot demand. Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was down by 0.16 per cent at $76.77 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 0.14 per cent lower at $81.25 per barrel in New York. On MCX, crude oil for July delivery traded higher by Rs50 or 0.8 per cent at Rs6,296 per barrel in 7,310 lots. Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
