Amazon delivery partner was reportedly threatened by the company with dire consequences for not being able to deliver packages during tornadoes. When the delivery partner reported hearing tornado sirens, the company executives said that the siren were just warnings. The delivery executive was told that if she returns to the warehouse without delivering her packages, she would end up losing her job. She had shared the screenshots of her conversation with the dispatcher. In one of the chats, the dispatcher told that delivery drivers cannot be recalled unless Amazon asks them to.

"If you decided to come back, that choice is yours. But I can tell you it won't be viewed as for your own safety. The safest practice is to stay exactly where you are. If you decide to return with your packages, it will be viewed as you refusing your route, which will ultimately end with you not having a job come tomorrow morning. The sirens are just a warning," the dispatcher said.

Commenting on the situation, an Amazon spokesperson Kelly Nantel told the publication that the delivery service partner's dispatcher didn't follow the standard safety practice. She said that the dispatcher should have asked the driver to seek shelter when the driver reported hearing tornado sirens.
