Amazon focuses on last-mile connectivity to push festival sales

With the number of new clients going up phenomenally from the rural areas in Andhra Pradesh, e-commerce giant Amazon India has decided to improve further its last-mile connectivity by partnering with kirana shops for faster delivery of various products.

Visakhapatnam With the number of new clients going up phenomenally from the rural areas in Andhra Pradesh, e-commerce giant Amazon India has decided to improve further its last-mile connectivity by partnering with kirana shops for faster delivery of various products.

The number of sellers has gone up from 10,000 to 15,000 within a year which the firm believes is a good sign. To help new sellers kick-start their journey and scale their business through Amazon India, the company said all new sellers registering on Amazon.in between August 28 to October 26 and launching within 90 days from date of registration will be eligible to avail 50% waiver on selling fee across all categories. This is a fee that all sellers pay for selling their products on Amazon India.

Over 15,000 sellersfrom Andhra Pradesh amongst all others from India are looking forward to benefit

from this festive season. This includes businesses of all sizes including local stores, traditional weavers

and artisans, women entrepreneurs as well as startups and digital entrepreneurs who are helping expand

the vast selection of products available on Amazon India.

Besides, Amazon India has also simplified seller registration and account management services with the launch of Telugu for sellers. Amazon India offers local neighborhood stores across many states of India programs to integrate their offline services and a chance to sell online with us through focused programs like Local Shops on Amazon.

"Today, 1.5 lakh offline retailers and neighborhood stores across India including 2400+ sellers from Andhra Pradesh have discovered the benefits of selling online with Local Shops on Amazon," said Vivek Somareddy, Director Fulfillment Channels at Amazon India on Friday.

He told the media here that "this festive season our focus continues to be on maximizing success for our sellers and network of fulfillment partners while providing our customers great value and the convenience of shopping from anywhere, anytime. We have over 15,000 sellers from AP amongst others, who will have the opportunity to showcase their products to millions of customers across the country during the festive season."

He said they hope that the festive season will bring growth and success to all our sellers and continue to offer customers a wide selection, convenience, and fast delivery to their homes.
