SCCL: Plans Afoot to Offer Accident Insurance for Contractual Employees

Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) Chairman and Managing Director N Balram said they are working to provide accident insurance of Rs 30 lakh for contract workers.
During a meeting about contract workers' welfare on Tuesday, Balram mentioned that they already started an accident insurance scheme of Rs 1 crore for Singareni employees through SBI and Union Banks.
They plan to introduce a similar scheme for contract workers soon.
He further stated that the company is in talks with HDFC Bank to set up an accident insurance scheme of Rs 30 lakh for contract workers.
Balram also said that the company is giving medical services to contract workers in Singareni hospitals and is trying to provide treatment in ESI hospitals.
The Chairman also said that they are making efforts to ensure contract workers and their families can get medical care at ESI hospitals in Kothagudem and Singareni Thermal Power Stations (STPP).
