Flight Operations Resume After Microsoft Windows Outage

The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed on Saturday that flight operations across India had returned to normal following a global Microsoft outage that severely affected airlines and airports.

Airline systems began functioning normally from 3 AM, although a backlog of disruptions persisted from the previous day, expected to clear by noon.

IndiGo, the largest airline, reported significant progress in resolving operational issues but cautioned passengers about possible delays and disruptions over the weekend.

Delhi Airport faced minor disruptions due to the non-functional Digi Yatra system, causing increased waiting times and queues earlier in the day.

The outage also impacted the IT industry, financial markets, and other sectors, with most issues resolved by the end of the day.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) experienced temporary disruptions affecting certain trading members, which were largely resolved promptly. The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) observed operational disruptions affecting five AMCs, which were also resolved within the same day.
