Air India to Introduce A350-900 on Delhi-London route

Air India will start flying its A350-900 planes on the Delhi-London route twice a day from September 1. This will be the first time the airline uses this plane for a long international route.

They are also adding premium economy seats on these flights.

Air India, owned by the Tata Group, has 31 flights a week to London Heathrow—17 from Delhi and 14 from Mumbai.

They also fly from Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Goa, and Kochi to London Gatwick with 17 flights a week. In addition, they operate six weekly flights connecting Delhi and Amritsar to Birmingham.

Air India started using A350 planes this year for domestic flights and has ordered 40 of these planes, with 6 already in its fleet.

"The A350-900 will replace the currently deployed Boeing 777-300 ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on 14 of 17 weekly flights. As a result, an additional 336 seats will be available on the Delhi-London Heathrow route each week, Air India said in a press release.
