Amaravati: The recent filing of an online case and later in person in Vijayawada against senior IPS officers and some other influential persons by doctor-turned-actress Kadambari Jethwani has triggered a lot of curiosity in Bollywood and Tollywood following wide publicity in the media.
After an assurance by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to provide her security cover, she visited Vijayawada along with her relatives to file a formal complaint before NTR District Commissioner of Police SV Rajasekhar Babu. In the complaint she named three IPS officers and few other officers who came in plainclothes to arrest her and her aging father, a retired Army officer and mother, a retired RBI officer from their Mumbai residence and keeping them under remand for 40 days.
Their advocate N Srinivasa Rao was quoted as saying before the media that the powers-that-be denied her access to an advocate to challenge a land grabbing case foisted against them with ‘false and fabricated’ documents in Ibrahimpatnam police station limits near Vijayawada. He termed Vidyasagar, a film producer and YSRCP activist KVR Vidyasagar as the kingpin behind their arrest.
The actress said that Vidyasagar was sending unsolicited material on her email and mobile phone after she declined his request to marry him long ago. She said the case was registered against her at a short notice to arrest her and her parents in February, 2024 as a sequel to a police complaint filed by her against some influential people in Mumbai.
