Amazon fest offer 2023 off to a record-breaking start

Amazon.in has registered the biggest-ever opening of its Great Indian Festival 2023, with the highest orders, transactions and visits from customers in 48 hours.

With 9.5 crore customer visits, Amazon Prime members shopped 18 times more in the first 24 hours of Prime Early Access (PEA) than average daily purchase. It was the best-ever start to the festive season for seller partners, with more than 35 per cent increase in small and medium businesses securing sales within the initial 48 hours.

From Visakhapatnam, customers primarily purchased from top product categories such as textiles, smartphones and electronics, groceries, leather products.

Amazon India has created more than 100,000 seasonal job opportunities across its operations network to ensure faster and more reliable deliveries to customers. These opportunities include direct and indirect jobs across India in cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Chennai, among others. Amazon India has already onboarded the majority of these new hires into its existing network where they will pick, pack, ship, and deliver customer orders safely and efficiently. “The continued success of The Great Indian Festival is built on the strong foundation that we have established through various innovations, over the years. Features like Amazon Live, Regional Language support for Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi, Bengali and Voice shopping, have simplified and the experience and improved accessibility for crores of customers. Amazon Live enables the brands to have an immersive and interactive engagement that resonates with today’s savvy shoppers,” said Kishore Thota, Director, Customer Experience & Marketing at Amazon India.

As a part of its commitment to uplift their sellers, Amazon had also announced the “Great Indian Referral Offer” where sellers can refer their friends to sell on Amazon.in and receive rewards worth up to Rs 11,500. In addition, Amazon has introduced various technological initiatives to make online selling easier and more successful for sellers.
