Marut launches new drone for reforestation drive

City-based drone manufacturing company, Marut Drones on Friday announced the launch of reforestation drone, Seedcopter 2.0 for corporate entities engaging in CSR activity related to reforestation.

These drones are designed to disperse seed balls in challenging terrains, including valleys and foothills. Seedcopter conducts comprehensive aerial survey and mapping of target areas, providing insights into topography, soil conditions, and vegetation, enabling informed decisions during the seeding process.

Prem Kumar Vislawath, CEO, Marut Drones, said: “Marut aspires to bring together corporates and their dedicated CSR teams to take up the service of Seedcopter in the reforestation journey, an activity that would align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.” The CEO further informed that Marut Drones has put into use Seedcopter from 2021. The drone has planted more than one crore trees across nine States including Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu and, Assam. Film actor Rana Daggubati had joined forces with Marut Drones in 2021 to increase forest cover in India through rapid afforestation, using Seedcopter. On the launch of Seedcopter 2.0, he said, “Marut Drones has developed an innovative and scalable solution for reforestation and revegetation that is faster and cheaper than traditional manual planting practices.”
