Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has condemned the Hyderabad authorities for what he describes as the "unlawful" demolition of his N-Convention Centre in Madhapur.
Despite a court-issued interim stay on the demolition, the authorities proceeded, arguing that the structure encroached upon Tammidikunta lake land.
In a statement on Twitter (now X), Nagarjuna expressed his discontent: “Pained by the unlawful demolition of N-Convention, which contradicts existing stay orders and court cases.
This statement is to protect my reputation and confirm that we have adhered to the law.”
He further stated that the land is patta land and no part of the lake's buffer zone was encroached upon.
Nagarjuna criticised the demolition as based on misinformation, noting that no prior notice was given.
He added, “Had the court ruled against me, I would have managed the demolition myself. We will pursue legal action to address these wrongful actions.”
