After Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's announcement, the State government has sanctioned the allocation of 15,000 double-bedroom homes for families displaced by the Musi Riverfront Development Project.
This decision is based on a survey that identified households residing along the riverbed and within the buffer zone, many of which face economic hardships.
The Musi River Front Development Corporation conducted a survey that identified approximately 15,000 affected families.
These families will be provided with 2BHK homes in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, with assistance from the District Collector.
Starting Wednesday, teams led by district collectors from Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri will engage with residents to inform them about their new housing arrangements.
In the first phase, 1,600 occupied homes in the riverbed will be cleared for relocation.
Property owners will receive compensation for both the construction and land value, while those in the buffer zone will be compensated in accordance with the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act.
