Telangana Budget 2024: Major FIllip for Agriculture in State
Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the Congress government will provide Rs 12,000 annually to tenant farmers and workers under the new scheme.

The Telangana state government has proposed Rs 72,659 crore for agriculture and allied sectors for the FY2024-25.
Slamming the previous government, Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the BRS government misused Rs 80,440 crore on Rythu Bandhu and announced the replacement of the scheme with Rythu Bharosa.
Under the new scheme, every farmer will get Rs 15,000 per acre annually.
He said the Congress government will provide Rs 12,000 annually to tenant farmers and workers under the new scheme. Additionally, crop insurance will be offered to farmers under PMFBY.
Some of the other measures include Rs 500 per quintal bonus for 33 fine-grain rice varieties, a target of one lakh acres for oil palm, and the ‘Rythu Nestham’ program for farmer technology updates.
Here are the proposed allocations:
Horticulture: Rs 737 crore
Farm loan waiver: Rs 15,470 crore
Crop insurance: Rs 981.11 crore
Farmers’ life insurance: Rs 1,167.92 crore
Animal husbandry: Rs 1,980 crore
Extension and training: Rs 3.5 crore
Technological advancement: Rs 29.80 crore
Agricultural research and education: Rs 415.87 crore
