Sri City-based Tata Smartfoodz bags platinum LEED certificate

Hyderabad: Sri City-based Tata Smartfoodz Ltd (TSFL), a subsidiary of Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL), a food processing company said it has received the Platinum certification under the LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1 rating system by the US Green Building Council (USGBC), for sustainable operations and environmental stewardship.
On this achievement, SC Purushottaman, Associate Director and Factory Head, TSFL, said: “Securing another Platinum LEED certification by TCPL is a major step forward in our sustainability journey and highlights our commitment to environmental responsibility and operational efficiency. This certification recognises TSFL’s eco-friendly operations and performance in key areas such as energy efficiency, water conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable material use.”
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification is a global recognition for sustainability achievement in the built environment. Congratulating TSFL team Dr Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City, said: “Their dedication to green practices aligns perfectly with Sri City’s vision of fostering sustainable industrial development. TSFL is the first industry in Sri City to receive the LEED Platinum certification. This recognition adds to the list of industries in the hub who have received various certificates, which includes three LEED certified, nine Indian Green Building Council certified, and 17 International Organisation for Standardisation certified companies.
