Traffic congestion on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway has intensified as travelers head home for Sankranthi. Delays at Pantangi Toll Plaza and ongoing construction at Choutuppal junction have worsened the situation. Alternative routes are advised.

Saturday morning witnessed significant traffic congestion on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway as many commuters headed home for the Sankranthi festivities. A major traffic jam formed at the Pantangi Toll Plaza in Choutuppal, causing delays for travelers. To ease the situation, traffic management officials redirected vehicles heading towards Andhra Pradesh through 10 toll booths, while those traveling towards Hyderabad were filtered through six gates.

The ongoing construction of an underpass at the Choutuppal junction further worsened the traffic situation, and authorities are anticipating more congestion throughout the weekend. In light of the delays, police have recommended alternative routes for motorists.

Bus stands in key areas like MGBS, JBS, Dilsukh Nagar, and LB Nagar are also seeing heavy traffic as people flood the city for Sankranthi. Commuters are urged to remain patient and plan their trips with caution.
