Telangana Mourns Manmohan Singh's Death
In a tribute to the late leader, the Telangana state government has declared a holiday for all government institutions. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has also announced a week-long mourning period to honor Singh's contributions to the nation.
Manmohan Singh, who served as India’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, was a key architect of the country's economic reforms and an influential leader of the Congress party. He represented the party in the Rajya Sabha for several decades. Singh passed away at the age of 92 due to age-related complications.
Official Orders Issued
Telangana Chief Secretary Shanthi Kumari has directed that national flags be flown at half-mast on government buildings throughout the mourning period. All official state functions have been canceled in light of this significant loss.
