Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning when a minibus carrying nine pilgrims from Hyderabad was involved in a fatal accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district. Seven devotees lost their lives, while two others sustained injuries after their vehicle collided with a truck near Mohla-Bargi around 9:30 AM.

The Journey and the Tragic Turn

The group, hailing from Medchal-Malkajgiri district, had traveled to Uttar Pradesh to take part in the Maha Kumbh Mela. After completing their pilgrimage and taking a holy dip on Monday, they began their return journey to Hyderabad early Tuesday. Unfortunately, their minibus met with an accident, leading to the devastating loss of lives.

A Devastating Loss

One of the victims, Santosh, who was in the gold ornament business, had already suffered personal tragedy a few months ago with the loss of his wife. His two young daughters, staying in a hostel in Hyderabad, were left orphaned. His elderly mother broke down inconsolably upon hearing the news.

Among the victims, Naveen, Anand, Santosh, and Shashi were close relatives and lived in the same neighborhood. Their families are now urging authorities to expedite the process of bringing back the bodies for the final rites.

Official Response

Local authorities, including the police and revenue officials, have stepped in to assist the bereaved families. Jabalpur police are coordinating with Hyderabad officials to ensure the swift transportation of the deceased. The bodies are expected to arrive in Hyderabad on Wednesday after post-mortem procedures are completed in Jabalpur.
