A group of four unidentified individuals looted Rs 29.69 lakh from an ATM belonging to a public sector bank in Maheshwaram during the early hours of Monday. The perpetrators arrived in a white vehicle, concealing their faces, heads, and hands while executing the heist.
Equipped with a gas cutter and a crowbar, the gang targeted the ATM at the bank’s Ravirala Branch. According to the complaint filed by the bank manager, an alert from the internal security system signaled a breach at 2:13 a.m. Upon reaching the location, she discovered that the machine had already been broken into and the cash stolen.
Police reviewed security footage, which showed the suspects reaching the ATM center in their vehicle. Before breaking into the machine, they ensured no external surveillance could capture their faces, using a spray to disable the cameras. The group then swiftly cut open the ATM using a gas cutter, extracted the cash, and departed in their car. The entire operation was completed in under ten minutes.
