Make Cleanliness & greenery programme a success: GHMC Commissioner

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata has called for a successful cleanliness and greenery programme to be held from August 5 to 9. Commissioner Amrapali held a teleconference with zonal commissioners and additional commissioners on Friday and made several suggestions on the conduct of the cleanliness and greenery programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said the State government had taken up the cleanliness and greenery programme with the aim of increasing sanitation and greenery in the State. As part of greenery and cleanliness, the designated day-to-day programs should be effectively conducted in all the wards of the city, she said. She also said teams should be formed along with officials of all departments to conduct the Swachh Dhan - Greenery programme. She said the teams set up for cleanliness and greenery should work towards ensuring that the programmes are implemented properly as per the schedule at the ground level.

“In this programme, useful plants should be distributed to the people from door to door and community halls should be monitored as well as monitoring of community halls. As the government has set up an innovative programme on each day, he directed the officials to conduct such programmes on those days and submit a report by 4 pm,” she said. The Commissioner explained the details and schedule of the programmes to be undertaken under the Cleanliness and Greenery programme from August 5 to 9. He suggested that the town level, slum level federation, RCs, POs tax, sanitation SSAs should create awareness among the representatives of the residential welfare association and the public at the field level on cleanliness and greenery. Officials from the concerned departments should go in a team and create awareness among the representatives of the Residential Welfare Association and the public on these issues.

She suggested that the cleanliness and greenery programme should be monitored regularly and the programme should be successfully implemented to promote cleanliness and greenery in the city with the participation of the people. She urged the government to intensify cleanliness drives in the city with commitment for these five days and to continue the same spirit continuously.

The teleconference was attended by additional commissioners and zonal commissioners.
