HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath announced that discussions will be held with irrigation engineers and revenue officials to address complaints regarding the full tank level (FTL) of Thurkayamjal Lake. A comprehensive study will involve experts from IIT, BITS Pilani, and JNTU, as well as analysis of satellite images and maps provided by the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC). The study aims to determine the lake's FTL within two to three months.
Ranganath assured that the concerns of locals—who have reported that some lakes are disappearing while others are experiencing an increase in FTL—will be examined impartially. Additionally, complaints of sewage water contamination in Thurkayamjal Lake and its stagnant water levels will be thoroughly investigated.
The Commissioner also addressed the concerns of Aditya Nagar residents, who claimed that their plots lacked water when they purchased them. Ranganath assured that the lake’s FTL will be scientifically determined, with careful analysis of NRSC images, maps, and revenue records, in consultation with officials from all relevant departments.
