The city is experiencing the last stretch of winter, with meteorologists predicting a steady rise in temperatures starting early February. Weatherman T. Balaji, popularly known as Telangana Weatherman on X (formerly Twitter), has advised residents to enjoy the remaining cool days as the transition to warmer weather begins.
On Friday, parts of Hyderabad, especially in the eastern and northern areas, witnessed a second consecutive day of super-dense fog. This phenomenon, attributed to high temperature inversion effects, significantly reduced visibility during the early morning hours. The local weather office reported no rainfall over the past 24 hours, with the maximum temperature recorded at 30.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday, just 0.1 degrees Celsius above the normal for this time of year. The minimum temperature, measured at 17.7 degrees Celsius on Saturday, was slightly higher than average, showing a deviation of 1.2 degrees Celsius.
Relative humidity levels varied significantly, with 84 per cent recorded at 8:30 a.m. and dropping to 53 per cent by 5:30 p.m. The seven-day forecast indicates a gradual increase in both daytime and nighttime temperatures. On Friday and Saturday, the city is expected to see minimum and maximum temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, respectively, with fog or mist in the morning, followed by partly cloudy skies. By Sunday, the maximum temperature is likely to rise to 32 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 19 degrees Celsius. This warming trend will continue, with January 28 marking a high of 34 degrees Celsius and a low of 21 degrees Celsius. The forecast suggests foggy or misty mornings persisting through January 30, accompanied by partly cloudy skies during the day.
