Telangana continued to reel under a cold wave on Thursday, as temperatures dipped significantly across the state. In Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, Sirpur recorded the lowest temperature at 5.9 degrees Celsius, marking it the coldest location in the region.

In Hyderabad, the University of Hyderabad in Serilingampally registered a minimum temperature of 9.7 degrees Celsius, while other parts of the city also experienced a significant drop. Moulali recorded 10.1 degrees Celsius, and Rajendranagar reported 10.2 degrees Celsius. On the city’s outskirts, Moinabad saw temperatures as low as 8.5 degrees Celsius, while Ibrahimpatnam recorded 9.8 degrees Celsius.

The past 24 hours in Hyderabad saw an average minimum temperature of 13.6 degrees Celsius, which is 1.8 degrees Celsius below the seasonal average. The maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday stood at 28.6 degrees Celsius, which is considered normal for this time of the year. The city's seven-day forecast indicates persistent cold conditions with partly cloudy skies and haze. On Thursday, temperatures will range from 14 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius. Friday is expected to see a dip to 13 degrees Celsius, with a high of 28 degrees Celsius. From January 11 to 14, minimums will vary between 14 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius, while maximums will stay between 29 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. By January 15, temperatures are forecast to range from 16 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius.

Across the state, cold conditions prevailed, with Adilabad’s Bela recording a low of 5.9 degrees Celsius. Ginnedari in Tiryani and Sirpur (U) reported 6.1 degrees Celsius each, while Kohir in Sangareddy registered 6.9 degrees Celsius. Other regions such as Kerameri in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad recorded 7.5 degrees Celsius, and Tamsi saw a minimum of 7.7 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures between 7 degrees Celsius and 9 degrees Celsius were widespread in many areas. Dongli in Kamareddy and Nyalkal in Sangareddy recorded 7.3 degrees Celsius and 7.4 degrees Celsius, respectively. Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad recorded 14.9 degrees Celsius, while Kukatpally reported 14.4 degrees Celsius.
