TGSRTC has taken enough measures to ensure that passengers do not face any inconvenience during the Sankranti festival.

According to Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, TGSTRC will rin 6,432 special buses during the festival season from January 10.

Special officers at major bus stations have been instructed to ensure smooth arrangements for the passengers.

The minister highlighted the need to arrange for extra buses to accommodate more women travelers due to the Mahalaxmi scheme, which offers free bus travel for women.

In addition, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar issued a stern warning to private travel operators. The Minister also stated that strict action would be taken if passengers are overcharged during the Sankranti festival. He also clarified that existing charges should be maintained, and any extra charges would lead to the seizure of private buses.

The minister urged passengers to report any overcharging to the transport department. He instructed officials to conduct regular inspections and act quickly on complaints.

Any buses charging extra will be seized, and strict action will be taken. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar emphasised that the government prioritizes passenger safety and welfare and advised travelers to stay safe during the festival.
