Hyderabad: Telangana Industry Minister D Sridhar Babu met Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Friday to seek Centre’s support for the development of mega leather parks and Zaheerabad project.
“The Government of Telangana has requested for the central assistance from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for the development of mega leather parks (MLPs) and their associated infrastructure, including common effluent treatment plants (CETPs),” an official statement said.
The MLPs are planned to be established in Rukmapur Village, Karimnagar District, and Station Ghanpur Village, Jangoan District in the State.
The Minister, after briefing Goyal about the progress of the upcoming Industrial Smart City under the NICDC (National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation) in Zaheerabad, sought release of funds and expeditious clearance for the 12 industrial nodes.
During the meeting, the Minister also extended an invitation to Goyal for attending BioAsia 2025, scheduled on February 26 in Hyderabad. The life sciences and healthcare event will bring together global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to drive innovation and collaboration in the sector. The Union Minister has confirmed his participation, according to the official statement.
In addition, the Minister informed that Telangana would participate in the Osaka Expo-2025 in Japan to showcase the State’s industrial prowess, and business potential internationally.
