Hyderabad: The Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) on Monday released a clarification to certain reports published on the auction of 400 acres of land in Survey number 25, Kancha Gachibowli Village, Serilingampally Mandal, Ranga Reddy District. The Government strongly reiterated its ownership over the land and warned that any contention of land ownership will be considered as contempt of court.

TGIIC issued a statement putting aside reports and protests that have erupted over the auction of land in Kancha Gachibowli village. The government informed that the land under discussion was allotted by the-then State government of Andhra Pradesh to a private entity in 2004. However, the ruling Congress government in Telangana legally won the case in the highest court ascertaining ownership over the land. Moreover, the University of Hyderabad does not own land in this survey, TGIIC remarked pointing out that the development plan does not include any lake, whereas the rocks formation in the plan will not be disturbed by the development.

According to an official press release, the Deputy Collector and Tahsildar, Serilingampally Mandal had confirmed to TGIIC that as per Revenue records the land in Sy.No.25 of Kancha Gachibowli Village is recorded as Kancha Asthabal Poramboke Sarkari (Government Land), and an extent of Ac. 400-00 gts is available free from encroachments and is under the possession of Government for further development.

TGIIC reiterated that as the said land has been in government possession and recorded as government land in the revenue records, it is not a forest land unlike false claims made in certain media reports.

With the consent of the Registrar, UoH, survey work was conducted on July 19, 2024 in presence of the UoH officials and the boundaries were fixed. Unlike the false claims, the Buffalo lake, and the Peacock lake are not part of the 400 acres land parcel being developed by TGIIC, it added.
