Hyderabad: As the real estate developers in Hyderabad are perturbed by the actions of Hydraa (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency), the building permissions already granted to developers will be honoured, said N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Minister of Irrigation, Government of Telangana.

Speaking after inaugurating the 14th Naredco Telangana property show on Friday here, Uttam Kumar termed the concerns of past approvals, NOCs, or permissions related to construction of properties in the city are not being honoured, as false.

He further said, “I am reiterating that developers who have the permission should be rest assured as the government will honour the same. Do not worry if you have already received clearance. Ease your tension about someone coming and disturbing your activity or making your customers nervous…”

The property show took off on Friday with 75 builders, developers, building material providers and financial institutions displaying their products at Hitex Exhibition Centre. The three-day property show has properties ranging from apartments, villas, plots and farmlands, besides SBI and ICICI Bank offering home loan products.

Laying down the initiatives taken up by the government for the growth of the sector in the State, the minister spoke about the various infrastructure projects. “One of the developers mentioned about sending out positive signals to the bankers and customers of developers. You should realise the focus government is putting on infrastructure by building RRR (regional ring road) and radial roads connecting ORR to RRR, which is going to change the landscape of the State. On war footing, the government has also taken up metro expansion work to ease traffic congestion and increase last mile connectivity.”

To further settle issues related to the real estate sectors growth, the minister also called for setting up a steering committee. “For closer interaction with the builders and developers, I urge you to form a steering committee with 10 members from recognised apex bodies of private real estate developers. The government will meet with you once or twice in a month to address your issues,” Reddy added.

In his welcome address, Vijaya Sai Meka, president, Naredco Telangana said the interaction that took place, in the previous week, between the developers and the State government for addressing their concerns related to the growth of the sector in Telangana.

Meka urged the government to consider a cut in the registration fees levied on property buyers to further uplift the purchase sentiment.

On the same lines, Dr Lion Y Kiron, Executive vice president, Naredco Telangana asked the government to build buyers’ confidence around the real estate sector by sending out a positive message about the economic growth taking place in the State which has been currently clouded by Hydraa’s drive against illegal structures in the city.

The Guest of Honour, G Hari Babu, president, Naredco stressed on supporting affordable housing segment which is at present sidelined by the government. “As the government is working for the common man it should focus on boosting affordable housing through which the State will be targetting about 60 per cent of the urban population,” Babu pointed out.

K Sreedhar Reddy, Secretary General, Naredco, extended the vote of thanks. R Venkateshwara Rao, Treasurer, Kali Prasad Damera, Executive Vice President, and other Naredco Telangana members and exhibitors were present at the inaugural.
