Hyderabad: Observance of the Shradh or Pitra Paksha period is considered to be inauspicious for registering homes according to the Hindu calendar and that led to a fall in property registrations in Hyderabad, according to Knight Frank Research.

The property consultant, in its latest assessment, reported that Hyderabad witnessed registration of homes worth Rs2,820 crore in September 2024, a yearly decline of 18 per cent, compared to Rs3,459 crore worth properties registered the previous year. Whereas, the number of units registered stood at 4,903, a 22 per cent decline, compared to 6,304 units registered in September 2023.

However, during January to September 2024, registered sales of residential properties was worth Rs36,461 crore, recording a 34 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase, while the number of units registered stood at 59,386, up by 13 per cent YoY, said Shishir Baijal, Chairman and Managing Director, Knight Frank India.
