Ustav Dixit, 33, a businessman and stand-up comedian, was arrested on Sunday for reckless driving after his Porsche crashed into the boundary wall of KBR Park.
According to the Assistant Commissioner of Police for the Banjara Hills Division, a case was opened on November 1 following a complaint from patrolling officers. The report stated that around 5:45 p.m., a red Porsche collided with the park's boundary wall, striking a tree and causing significant damage to the wall, grills, and pavement. Police arrived on the scene after receiving a citizen's call to Dial 100.
Upon arrival, officers found the red Porsche had hit the sidewalk and wall, with its number plate missing. A cracked number plate was later discovered inside the vehicle. The front wheels of the car were damaged, and the driver had reportedly fled the scene.
After a thorough investigation, police were able to locate and arrest Dixit. He was taken to a medical facility for a comprehensive examination, which included tests for alcohol and drugs. Additionally, his driver's license was confiscated and sent to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) for disqualification under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Preliminary findings suggest that reckless driving was the primary cause of the crash, leading to the driver losing control of the vehicle. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
