Perseus Group opens its 1st India GCC in Hyderabad

BFSI sector has a demand for 20,000 employees, with five lakh professionals currently working in this sector here
Hyderabad: Canada-based Perseus Group of Constellation Software on Friday launched its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad as DarkMatter India Technologies. The GCC will operate as a hub for advanced technology development, research and customer support, catering to 1,000 companies present across the US, Canada, Australia and Africa.
The company, one of the acquisitions of Perseus Group, has currently 750 employees working out of the GCC, spread across 1.40 lakh sft, with the space to expand further. Without revealing any numbers (investment/hiring), the company said that it will strengthen its team in the coming years across domains including software engineering, data science, and cybersecurity. At present, DarkMatter Technologies provides AI-driven technology solution for the mortgage banking industry.
Inaugurating the GCC, D Sridhar Babu, IT minister, Telangana, said: “Hyderabad is home to five of the world’s top BFSI Global Capability Centres, and with the the addition of DarkMatter India Technologies, Telangana will continue to lead as a hub for BFSI innovation. Moreover, we have recently signed a MoU with UBS Group at Davos for opening a 1,800 seater GCC in Hyderabad.”
The minister further said that the BFSI sector has a demand for 20,000 employees, with five lakh professionals currently working in this sector here. Through the BFSI Consortium, formed under the guidance of the government, the State is looking to skill and place one lakh professionals into the BFSI sector every year.
The centre was launched in the presence of Scott Smith, president, Perseus Group of Constellation Software, Sean Dugan, CEO, DarkMatter Technologies, Ravi Varma, Managing Director and president, DarkMatter India Technologies and Michael Housch, Chief Risk and Information Security Officer, DarkMatter Technologies.
Speaking about the Centre, Ravi Varma said that the GCC will house a dedicated product engineering team to innovate and enhance the Company’s suite of technology solutions.
Scott Smith added that besides expanding the company, they are open to acquiring and investing in technology companies in India.
Wherein, the Perseus Group currently has in its worldwide portfolio over 1,000 vertical market software companies.
