Hyderabad: The ground-breaking ceremony for the Young India Skill University took place at Net Zero Valley, Meerkhanpet, Kandukur mandal of Rangareddy district on Friday.

Representatives from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) attended the event and initiated the construction process with a traditional puja ceremony. MEIL Director Ravi P Reddy and Vice President Shivakumar, took part in the event. Director Ravi Reddy announced that the initial phase of construction, including essential buildings, is projected to be completed by Telangana Formation Day.

MEIL vice president Shivakumar shared that the campus buildings are designed for natural ventilation, enabling an open-air system without the need for air conditioning, aligning with sustainable and eco-friendly standards.

The MEIL committed a generous Rs.200 crore donation towards the university’s construction, highlighting its dedication to promoting skill-based education in Telangana. An agreement was signed between MEIL and the Telangana government in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, ensuring a collaborative effort toward the project's success.

MEIL Managing Director P V Krishna Reddy and Young India Skill University Vice-Chancellor Subbarao formalised the partnership.

The university will be constructed in compliance with international standards for environmental sustainability. MEIL plans to establish comprehensive infrastructure, including academic and administrative blocks, a library, an auditorium, advanced classrooms, laboratories, and other essential facilities, to foster an enriching learning environment.
