L&T Metro to Introduce New Trains & Expand Cultural Hubs for Passengers
L&T Metro Rail MD KVB Reddy announces the purchase of additional trains to ease crowding. New metro hubs for art and culture will be introduced, and a mega junction is planned for upcoming routes in Phase-2.
On the occasion of the Sankranti festival, the ‘MeTimeOnMy Metro’ campaign was launched.
L&T Metro Rail Managing Director, KVB Reddy, announced that new trains would be purchased to handle the growing crowd in metro trains. These additional trains are expected to arrive within 18 months of placing the order. However, he suggested that if passengers were more disciplined, the crowding problem could be reduced significantly.
Speaking at the launch of a three-day promotional campaign, ‘MeTimeOnMy Metro,’ at the JBS Metro Station on Wednesday, Reddy emphasized the importance of passenger discipline in addressing the crowd issue.
HMR Managing Director, NVS Reddy, also mentioned that the metro rail would provide passengers with the chance to showcase their skills in art, literature, and culture. Spacious stations like MGBS would have designated areas for passengers to exhibit their talents.
On the occasion of the Sankranti festival, the ‘MeTimeOnMy Metro’ campaign was launched, and NVS Reddy announced plans to develop key station junctions and spacious areas into special hubs and international centers.
Additionally, he revealed that a mega junction station is being planned for the proposed JBS-Shamirpet (22 km) and Paradise-Medchal (23 km) routes in Phase-2 Part-B.
