BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his response to the SLBC tunnel collapse. He questioned the CM’s priorities, alleging that political campaigning is taking precedence over addressing the crisis.
Taking to social media, KTR expressed his discontent, stating that while the chief minister is actively touring districts for electioneering, he has not yet visited the SLBC tunnel, where eight workers remain trapped. "There is time for election campaigns, but no time to visit the site where lives are at stake?" he questioned.
The SLBC (Srisailam Left Bank Canal) tunnel incident has left families of the missing workers in distress, with ongoing rescue efforts facing challenges. KTR accused the state government of neglecting its duty in handling the crisis. He said the chief minister’s absence at the site raises concerns about the government's commitment to disaster management.
KTR further criticized the administration, stating that the state’s leadership appears indifferent to the plight of those affected. He alleged that governance under the Congress regime has prioritized political gains over humanitarian efforts. “Is public welfare just about chasing votes and money?” he asked, calling the government’s response inadequate.
Drawing a historical parallel, KTR likened the situation to Emperor Nero playing the fiddle while Rome burned. He accused the CM of ignoring the gravity of the situation and focusing on the upcoming elections instead. "Telangana’s people are watching. The day is not far when the tables will turn on Congress," he warned.
KTR demanded immediate intervention from the chief minister and urged the government to take swift action to ensure the safety of the missing workers.
