Former Telangana Minister KTR questioning him at ACB in a Formula E car race test case. It may be noted that KTR had to leave the premises of the ACB office two days ago as his lawyer was not allowed to accompany him. But after KTR's plea to quash the notice was dismissed by the High Court, he filed another petition seeking the court's permission to take his lawyer along with him. The court granted permission to KTR, who appeared before the ACB on Thursday along with his lawyer and former Additional Advocate General Ramchander Rao.

The ACB had imposed conditions to permit the lawyer's presence. The lawyer who had been hired could only remain outside the room where the interrogation was being held, and only KTR was allowed inside. Due to his appearance, security was increased at the ACB office.

Describing the charges as utter nonsense, KTR vehemently rejected any allegations of corruption. Responding to allegations of park encroachments, he defended his record, claiming he had done more for Telangana under Chief Minister KCR's leadership. He also insisted he had "never been corrupt" - again, an apparent reference to bribery and said the allegations against him were part of a political gambit to take attention away from failures elsewhere, including the failure of his political rivals to fulfil their own pledges.

There has been some urgency in the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) investigation of the alleged Formula E car race case, with the agency recently serving some notices to KTR. A lot of questions have been asked about possible illegal financial transactions involving the Formula E event. For example, it is said that the Telangana Municipal Department paid a UK-based company ₹45.71 crore, which is against the rules of financial transactions. As part of this probe, the ACB registered cases against prominent personalities, including KTR, Arvind Kumar, and BRS leaders.

The investigation also involves IAS officer Dan Kishore, who complained about financial anomalies involving unapproved transfers and foreign currency transactions as well as unlawful payments. The ACB has already asked Kishore for several hours and taken important case documentation.

Emphasizing that no amount of legal battles or media manipulation will halt his efforts, KTR stays committed to fighting against Congress and the claimed scams as the inquiry progresses. His position captures the continuous political struggle in the state, which has attracted much interest.
