IndiGo Unveils Direct Flight To Madina

Hyderabad: IndiGo, launched its new direct service between Hyderabad and Madina, on Friday. The new flight from Hyderabad will depart thrice in a week at 7.35 pm, and the flight from Madina will depart at 12.45 am. IndiGo operates over 190 daily departures connecting 65 domestic and 15 international destinations from this city. With this launch, the airline now provides service to 38 international, and total 128 destinations. Vinay Malhotra, Head - Global Sales, IndiGo, said: “The introduction of direct flights on the Madina-Hyderabad route represents a vital bridge facilitating religious as well as cultural exchange between India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By commencing direct flights to Madinah, a major Islamic pilgrimage site, we aim to simplify travel within the region and beyond.”
Malhotra informed that IndiGo will now operate over 100 flights, a week, from various cities in India to four destinations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is, Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah and Madinah. Speaking on the importance of the Islamic pilgrimage city, he said, “Madina holds spiritual significance and is home to the Prophet’s Mosque, Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, which houses the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad. Madina is a central destination for pilgrims undertaking Hajj and Umrah. Madina also offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Islam, with numerous historical sites and museums that showcase the city’s heritage.”
