Image Tower To Be Operational In 9 Months: T’gana IT Min
Hyderabad: The Image (Innovation in animation, multimedia, gaming and entertainment) Tower, a facility for industry’s related to AVGC (animation, Visual effects, gaming and comic) sector will be operational in Hyderabad in the next nine months, according to Telangana IT Minister D Sridhar Babu.
The tower, whose foundation stone was laid in 2017, will provide plug and play spaces, with built-up office space. “Developed under private public partnership, the Image Tower will be operational in nine months to host innovation, startups, and companies. We have received interest from nearly 13 companies operating in the AVGC sector, to set up shop at the Image Tower,” Sridhar Babu told media here, on Thursday.
The 400-feet tall project, built along the IT corridor of Hyderabad, is spread across 16 lakh sft. The commercial property is likely to accommodate about 20,000 employees with studios in gaming and animation, and related enterprises setting up space in the Tower.
Speaking on the sidelines of IGDC 2024 (India Game Developer Conference) the minister further said that the government has demanded the Centre to approve setting up of a regional Centre of Excellence for innovation related to gaming, on the lines of a gaming innovation hub that has been sanctioned to Mumbai.
“The Centre has come up with a policy to set up a Centre of Excellence, for innovation in gaming, driven by industry bodies. The regional hub has been approved to be set up in Mumbai. We have questioned the Centre to consider Hyderabad, which has the talent and is well-positioned with the available infrastructure,” he added.
