Hyderabad: Institute of Company Secretaries of India, a national professional body said its Hyderabad Chapter is setting up a new facility in the city, which will operate as a professional development centre for training students.
The facility will have a multi-purpose hall, conference hall, counselling centre, class rooms, a moot court, and a state-of-art library. Union Minister G Kishan Reddy laid the foundation stone for the new building in the presence of 200 dignitaries, professionals, and students. The upcoming facility will be a five-floor, 11,086 sft centre, built on 500 sq yd land with an estimated outlay of Rs 10 crore. The building is likely to be completed in 15 months.
In his address, the Minister emphasised on the role Company Secretaries (CS) plays in shaping corporate governance and strengthening investor confidence. “India is fast approaching the $5 trillion economy milestone. In this journey, corporate governance professionals will play a pivotal role,” he remarked.
He urged ICSI to showcase India’s global intellectual property and corporate governance leadership, noting the growing international demand for Indian talent. He also called upon the Institute to scale up its efforts to produce 1.5 lakh Company Secretaries by 2035, from the current 75,000. CS Dhananjay Shukla, National President, ICSI, highlighted the Institute’s focus on capacity building in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance).
