Hydra has been taking action against illegal constructions, with Shamshabad now in focus. Commissioner Ranganath recently visited the Gollavanikunta Dharmajikunta pond in Chari Nagar, Shamshabad, and was concerned about the heavy encroachment. He noted that 75% of the 23-acre pond had vanished due to this, and expressed anger at the irrigation authorities for not protecting the area.

Ranganath pointed out that 75% of the 23-acre pond had disappeared due to the encroachment. He expressed his anger and frustration over the negligence of the irrigation authorities, who are responsible for safeguarding such areas.

During his visit, Ranganath stressed the need for quick action. He said authorities would inspect the encroached areas in the next few days and take necessary steps. Notices will be sent to those involved, and actions will be taken to fix the issues.

The Commissioner also mentioned that he would revisit the area in two days to ensure that the situation is being handled properly. He also responded to media queries about the absence of Shamshabad Village from the Dharani portal. When the question was asked, he expressed his surprise and promised to look into the matter.

Ranganath expressed concerns over authorities for not acting earlier, letting ponds and water bodies be completely encroached upon. He warned that if action wasn’t taken soon, the authorities would be held responsible and face consequences.
